KRMC'S PEDIATRIC UNIT
KRMC provides a compassionate healing environment for children and their families
At KRMC, our pediatric department is focused on the needs of children and their families. Our expert pediatric staff recognize that children are more than "small adults" and focus attention on their developmental and emotional needs in addition to their physical needs.
Taking care of sick children also means caring for the entire family. At KRMC, the child's parents/guardians are an active part of our healthcare team. We encourage them to spend as much time as possible participating in their child's care. Parents/guardians are also welcome to stay overnight with their child.
Equipped for the Special Needs of Children
KRMC's 8-bed pediatric unit is located on second floor of the hospital where children ranging in age from 1-day to 14-years receive care in a warm child-friendly environment. The unit features a play room with cheerful murals by a local artist and other comfortable decor to help children feel more at home.
The unit also features specialized pediatric clinicians and advanced equipment for diagnosing and treating a variety of injuries and illnesses in children.
KRMC's Pediatrics Staff
Children in KRMC's pediatric unit are cared for by their doctor, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants who all specialize in pediatric care.
Our pediatric nurses are certified in basic cardiac life support. Additionally, nurses and other clinical staff participate in ongoing educational activities to allow for the continued delivery of advanced care techniques and specialized pediatric care.
