A Perfect Race Day
Starting promptly at 7:30 a.m., runners and walkers in the 2010 race enjoyed near-perfect weather conditions with cloudless skies, a light breeze, and temperatures in the mid 70's.
The 10k and 5k routes began and ended at the Powerhouse Visitor Center on Route 66/Andy Devine. Runners followed Route 66 up El Trovatore Hill and then turned onto Hualapai Mountain Road before turning back into downtown Kingman.
The 3-mile walk also started at the Powerhouse Visitor Center. Walkers meandered through historic downtown Kingman before finishing at Locomotive Park where the closing awards ceremony was held.

Competing for a Compassionate Cause
Not only did everyone enjoy a spectacular high-desert morning, but the 2009 race garnered $14,838. All proceeds went toward building and operating the Joan and Diana Hospice Home, which was completed in Kingman in Spring 2010. This home will provide compassionate care to terminally ill individuals who do not have a caregiver or who live too far out of town to obtain hospice service.
We wholeheartedly thank each participant, sponsor, and volunteer!
